What is Identity Management for Business?

Identity Management is a set of processes to manage the identification and authentication of Australian businesses and their authorised representatives. It includes identity proofing, verification of ABN, and login.

Objectives

To adopt a consistent and efficient approach for identifying businesses for business-facing government services, and provide a uniform and secure experience for Australian businesses and their authorised representatives dealing with government.

  • Use accredited providers through the Services Australia Identity Exchange under the Trusted Digital Identity Framework (TDIF) when verifying identity of Australian businesses or their authorised representatives

  • Avoid investment in new identity capabilities that are available as existing government assets
