Digital Service Standard v1.0

The Digital Service Standard v1.0 was a set of best practice principles helping agencies design and build simple, clear, and fast digital services for Australians.

The standard guided the development and continual improvement of valuable digital services that met user needs.

An updated version of the standard (v2.0) was released on 4 December 2023.

Applicability

The Digital Service Standard v1.0 applied to new public and staff-facing services up until and including those going through the Digital Capability Assessment Process (DCAP) for the 2024-25 Budget process.

Digital initiatives in later budget stages must meet the Digital Service Standard v2.0.
