Government Enterprise Resource Planning (GovERP)

Ongoing works related to what was previously built under GovERP have been repurposed (and renamed Services Australia ERP, or SA ERP) for use by Services Australia, and any entities who choose to use it.

GovERP was planned to provide SAP-based back-office services including financial, human resources, and procurement services and reporting as a common platform for government.

The Shared Services Transformation Program (which included the build of SAP-based GovERP solution and a smaller entity solution based on TechnologyOne and Aurion) was replaced with a new APS ERP approach, and thus GovERP is considered retired.

Reuse Assessment

The GovERP reuse assessment is part of the new APS ERP approach. The government commissioned report contains 5 key observations and recommendations for reuse.

An independent panel of technical experts led the assessment, with support by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA). Engagement took place across the public service. The final report was presented to the Minister for Finance, the Hon Katy Gallagher on 28 June 2024.
