Procurement and Sourcing policy (position)

This policy describes the requirements for entities planning to find and buy digital products and services.

The DTA are consulting on whether this guidance should replace the Digital Sourcing Consider First and Fair Criteria policies.

Applicability

Digital investment proposals are assessed against this policy by the DTA through the Digital and ICT Investment Oversight Framework (IOF).

Commonwealth entities are encouraged to apply this policy to all digital investments

This Procurement and Sourcing policy position represents the DTA’s opinion of best practice, and a Procurement and Sourcing policy is currently under consultation.

Policy (position)

  • Ensure procurement processes are transparent and fair, welcoming a pool of competitive sellers from which agencies can choose suitable solutions or services.

The Digital Sourcing Framework sets the foundation of how government buys digital products and services. The Standards for Digital Sourcing enable government agencies to uplift their procurement practices to align with the Framework.
