On 22 November 2023, the Australian Government released the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy (the Strategy). The Strategy is the roadmap that will help realise the Australian Government's vision of becoming a world leader in cyber security by 2030. This vision will be achieved with 6 cyber shields, each providing an additional layer of defence against cyber threats, and places Australian citizens and businesses at its core. Throughout the period covered by the Strategy, the Australian Government will work with industry to reinforce these shields and build Australia's national cyber resilience.

  • Shield 1: Strong businesses and citizens
  • Shield 2: Safe technology
  • Shield 3: World-class threat sharing and blocking
  • Shield 4: Protected critical infrastructure
  • Shield 5: Sovereign capabilities
  • Shield 6: Resilient region and global leadership

Note: this Strategy replaced Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy 2020.
