What is Data Management?
Data Management is a set of processes to manage the format, quality, currency and provenance of government data. This includes ensuring that where possible and appropriate, Australian Government data is designed to be open and transparent to the public.
To standardise data management and data sharing practices across government through centralised data exchange platforms, to ensure the high quality and effective management of government data.
Align to common Whole-of-Government, portfolio, or sector-specific data ontologies for their data management, as appropriate
Release non-sensitive data as open by default
Optimise the use and reuse of public data
Collaborate with the private and research sectors to extend the value of public data for the benefit of the Australian public
