1. Introduction and scope
By signing in, you agree to these terms of use. These terms govern your access to and use of content within the authenticated space of the Australian Government Architecture (AGA) managed by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA).
For this guidance, content means any information or material made available through the authenticated AGA website, including designs, patterns, guidance, documentation, supporting files, and associated metadata (such as source, author, and version). This includes copies created by users (for example downloads, exports, or screenshots), regardless of format or medium.
Note: These terms are in addition to your agency’s policies.
2. Access and identity
- Eligibility: access is restricted to current Australian Government employees.
- Authentication: you must access the system via the single sign-on provided.
Account security: you are responsible for all actions performed under your account. You must not share your credentials or allow others to use your authenticated session.
3. Intellectual property and reuse
The authenticated space of the AGA supports sharing across agency boundaries.
To foster a ’build once, reuse often’ culture, the following rules apply:
- Ownership: agencies retain ownership of the material they contribute.
- The ’Commonwealth purpose’ licence: by uploading content, you grant other Commonwealth agencies a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, and redistribute that content for official government business.
- Attribution: when reusing a design pattern or standard, you should provide internal attribution to the originating agency where practicable.
4. Information classification and security
The AGA contains sensitive information that is not public.
- Classification: unless otherwise marked, assume all content is OFFICIAL.
- Restriction on export: do not download, print, or distribute content from this area to third parties, external vendors, or the public domain without explicit DTA approval.
- Security breach: if you suspect a security vulnerability or unauthorised access, you must notify the DTA immediately via architecture@dta.gov.au.
5. Privacy and monitoring
- Logging: we log your IP address, identity, and activity (pages visited, files downloaded) to ensure security and to report on whole-of-government digital trends.
- Personal information: any personal data handled within this portal is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
6. Disclaimer
While the DTA strives for accuracy, content is provided 'as-is'. Individual agencies remain responsible for their own technical due diligence before using content.
